About Carter
I built the body.
Then I lost myself inside it.

Carter Twitty
Movement coach. Founder, CT Movement. Writes on Substack, teaches on Instagram, coaches one-to-one online.
For years I lived two lives. One was the life I wanted: movement practice, deep reading, showing up fully. The other I kept hidden: drinking, using, cycling through guilt and shame by morning. From the outside it looked like discipline. From the inside I was coming apart.
During the pandemic, the hiding stopped working. My weight climbed fifty pounds. My wife asked me to leave. I went to my brother's house. A week later I fell off again. He gave me one choice: rehab or AA, or lose the family. I chose the group.
What saved me wasn't a method. It was people. My family, who stayed. My sponsor, who showed up. My movement teacher and community, who held the door open even when I'd stopped walking through it.
Real change doesn't happen through information or intensity. It happens through sustained, honest support from someone who has been somewhere dark and came back.
You have not lost the athlete in you. You need the right place to begin.

How I coach
- 01Start where you are
- The first job is finding the right starting point for the body and schedule you actually have.
- 02Judgment over volume
- Exercises are free. Knowing which ones belong in your life now, and how much, is the work.
- 03Skill is the goal
- Mobility and strength are the means. Handstands, rings, running, playing with your kids are the point.
- 04Honest dialogue
- Real feedback between sessions, and the expectation that you communicate honestly back.
“If you're breathing, I'd send you to him. Carter meets you where you're at, and he gives one hundred percent to helping you grow. He puts his heart and soul into this practice. It's changed my life.”
